I
am often asked where I
get the music I play in
seminars.
The
secret for me is to find
the kind of music I would
enjoy listening to during
a candlelit dinner. Something
soft, easy and peaceful.
This kind of music is
calming to learners and
sets a rich backdrop for
read alouds, writing,
and times when you want
to focus on quiet reflection.
A few of my favorite sources
include:
- Relax
with the Classics:
This company specializes
in music for educators
so their selections
are based on a 60 beat
per minute cadence
which
is especially suited
to learning. Their
selections
can be accessed at
http://www.relaxwiththeclassics.com/.
- Shane
Knox: This
is a wonderfully talented
young man whose mother
attended one of my seminars
and suggested that his
original music might
be a match to the kind
of music I play in workshops.
Shane has developed
a CD with four original
songs and then four
rhythms to use in rhythmic
readings. His CD is
available for $10.00
plus $2.50 shipping
at shaneknox@hotmail.com.
